End of Summer Party and The First Day of School

So hard to believe that summer is already over and school is back in session. We had an End of Summer Party for all the kids in the neighborhood. This is our second year doing this and it is a lot fun. This year we rented a bouncy castle and a water slide. I knew Hannah would never go down the water slide which is why I rented the bouncy castle. I was right.

Mmm... cupcakes!
Shaving cream fight! The kids favorite activity by far. I cleaned Wal-Mart out of Barbasol shaving cream at $1 a bottle! :)

Back on the slide to rinse off. They kept covering themselves in shaving cream and then going down the slide super fast.
Hannah just enjoyed covering herself in the shaving cream

Oops! Almost forgot to get a pic of Hannah's princess bouncy castle!

Back to school! First day was a success. After getting up at 10 every morning this summer (or later) I was not looking forward to getting Lauren up but she didn't do too bad considering. She requested her favorite for breakfast, bacon and eggs. It's always bacon and eggs or Special K. I have to say I do a silent cheer when she requests the Special K.

My big 3rd grader. How can this be? My little bug.

While Lauren was at school Hannah and I were busy making back to school cupcakes. I was sad to see Lauren go back to school but I thoroughly enjoyed having my one on one time with Hannah again. Bittersweet.

3 More Rooms

It's coming along! I have finally finished Lauren's room. It has been my biggest decorating challenge in this house for sure. Lauren isn't picky, thank goodness. It was just very hard to find stuff that wasn't too "baby" but not completely teenager. But alas, it is finally done. And she loves it.

This Lauren's collection of "big eyes". I can't remember what they are really called but they are some sort of Ty collection.

Lauren's windows are my favorite part of Lauren's room. The original blueprint had one double window on the back wall and I decided to do wall to wall windows and also cathedral the ceiling. So glad I did. I love the way it turned out.
This is Lauren's closet. You see the little door under her dresses? That is their "secret hallway." The little hallway leads them to their playroom. There are lights inside the hallway and I often find the girls in that hallway coloring, reading or just hiding out. They love it.

This is the powder room downstairs. The prints on the wall are of our two dogs, Max and Bella. I had these done as a surprise for Jamie and when they FINALLY came in, he loved them!

The sunroom
This is still a work in progress of sorts but I was stuck and ready to move on. I like the sitting area but the desk are needs work. I have ideas running through my head but I haven't decided on anything yet. I love that I can sit in that room and with all the windows I can see the kids playing in the backyard. It's a very peaceful place to be.

So next up is the girls bathroom and their playroom. Should be fun!
